Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of various healing arts professions and vocations by boards within the Department of Consumer Affairs, including, among others, the Medical Board of California and the California State Board of Pharmacy. Existing law makes specified actions by licensed health care providers unprofessional conduct and, in certain cases, a criminal offense.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation prohibiting a health care provider from providing sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures on a patient under 18 years of age unless certain conditions are met.
The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation prohibiting a health care provider from providing sex-reassignment prescriptions or procedures on a patient under 18 years of age unless certain conditions are met.
