LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST
Existing law establishes the Department of Industrial Relations within the Labor and Workforce Development Agency and provides that one of the functions of the department is to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of wage earners of this state.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that provision relating to the functions of the department.
The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 50.5 of the Labor Code is amended to read:
50.5.
One of the functions of the Department of Industrial Relations is to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners of California, this state, to improve their working conditions, and to advance their opportunities for profitable employment.
